Keeping up with the Jones’s: Michael Douglas & Catherine Zeta-Jones visit Victoria Falls River Lodge

“Happy Holidays from Africa!” – With these words, the ultimate Hollywood ‘royal family’ waved to their millions of Instagram followers from in front of the iconic Victoria Falls in a video published on December 24th.

Posting updates from Zimbabwe over Christmas and New Years’, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Welsh actress, and her husband Michael Douglas, American actor and producer, shared beautiful family holiday pictures of their time in Zimbabwe with their fans.

And it’s finally out of the bag… the legendary Hollywood couple stayed at none other than the Victoria Falls River Lodge’s Island Treehouse Suites with their children, Carys Zeta-Jones (16) and Dylan Michael Jones (19).

While Zambezi Crescent’s staff are tight-lipped about the picture-perfect celebrity family’s African vacation, we can confirm that the couple stayed on the Island for two nights.

They were also spotted doing a walking tour of The Falls, a helicopter flip over The Falls and a boat cruise on the mighty Zambezi River.

While Island Manager Peter Dunning did not divulge any information, to respect the family’s privacy, he did say that the family made a generous donation to The Victoria Falls Anti-Poaching Unit.

“Instead of buying gifts for all our guests over the Festive Season, Victoria Falls River Lodge makes donations to this organization in lieu of gifts. When they left us, the family was heading for Mozambique, Zanzibar and The Serengeti. They are repeat visitors to Zimbabwe, and they love Africa,” said Dunning.

In one of Catherine Zeta-Jones’ most humorous Instagram posts, she teases hubby Michael, who carries a big bag of washing over his shoulder on the Island Lodge’s wooden walkway: “A married couple in the bush”, she titled this cute couple’s post.

This gem was posted by Douglas on Christmas morning, on the deck of Victoria Falls River Lodge: “The family and I enjoying a Xmas breakfast on the Zambezi River! Merry Christmas to all my fans!!!”

It was clear that their children, Carys and Dylan, enjoyed Africa in their khaki outfits and refreshing to see this close-knit celebrity family’s experience of the continent, through their social media accounts.

This is one of his last posts of Africa, presumably in Zimbabwe, posted by Douglas on New Year’s Day: “Starting the new year off with a Safari tour ? ??… Wishing everyone a great start to 2020!”
