LATEST DEVELOPMENTS AT VICTORIA FALLS RIVER LODGE

As always, we have been busy the past few months at Victoria Falls River Lodge to continuously ensure the comfort, luxury, and beauty that our guests have come to expect from their stay with us.

We have built two new Malachite Tented Suites, adding to the first six that opened in June last year. The new suites boast the same design excellence as the original Malachite Luxury Tented Suites, with prime and uninterrupted views over the Zambezi River.

Zambezi Crescent Senior Architect, Neil Smith, said the addition of the two new units will add to the vibrancy of the lodge, having more activity, guest movement and increased chances of guests interacting with one other.

“The two new suites have also meant the hiring of additional staff to service the lodge, which provide more employment for the local community and an opportunity to support their families. These additions will also give future guests a better chance of being able to stay with us – especially during the high season when our rooms become a scarce commodity,” said Smith.

The other building upgrade that recently took place at Victoria Falls River Lodge is a brand-new kitchen for Rapids View Villa. This exclusive villa opened in April last year, and the new Rapids View Villa kitchen is a standalone kitchen built near the villa for the sole use of preparing meals and snacks for the villa guests.

A layering of communal and private spaces

“The kitchen is a separate building to minimise staff movement into the villa, eliminating the sounds, smells and possible disturbance from deliveries to what is a very private sanctuary. The kitchen is designed with cooking, cleaning and storage spaces as well as ablutions for the staff that work at Rapids View Villa,” said Smith.

The addition of a separate, fully-fledged kitchen at Rapids View Villa means that guests now have access to a private chef who can go the extra mile to cater for their specific dietary needs.

“It provides a more flexible offering in terms of set menus, family-style food preparation and delivery. If requested, the chef – assisted by a private butler – could use the gas ‘braai’ (barbeque) on the main deck for a more interactive cooking experience, either in the evening or for breakfast,” said Smith.

In addition to the building upgrades, Victoria Falls River Lodge also launched its Exclusive 2025 Specials, which include a 3-night Stay and a Honeymoon Special.

The Honeymoon Special is open to guests staying at the Luxury Tented Suites and Island Treehouse Suites and includes 50% off accommodation for the bride, a bottle of bubbly and personalised note in their room upon check-in, a romantic private dinner, and a Spa massage voucher to the value of $120.
