OUR STORY

Creating a magical place for our guests to enjoy

Victoria Falls River Lodge has been a family-owned lodge since day one

Since his youth, the owner has been captivated by the unspoilt beauty of the Zambezi National Park, often paddling down the Zambezi River with friends. This lifelong love for the area led him to seize the opportunity to build the first private lodge in the park, creating a magical retreat for guests. Since the initial build in 2011, additional lodging amenities have been added both on the mainland within the park and on nearby Kandahar Island.

Spanning approximately 56,000 hectares (140,000 acres) along the Zambezi River, the Zambezi National Park offers a serene escape. Our Malachite Luxury Tented Suites are a mere 10-minute drive from Victoria Falls Town, while the River Lodge Luxury Tented Suites are about 15 to 20 minutes away. Though close enough to glimpse the spray of the falls in the distance, our lodge is nestled in a tranquil space free from the noise of air or road traffic, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the peaceful sounds of nature.

Our Lodges – Building Paradise

At Victoria Falls River Lodge, all construction has been carried out by local teams, the majority of whom were directly employed by the lodge. It’s our standard practice to empower local workers through training and upskilling, ensuring they gain valuable expertise that extends beyond our projects. This commitment not only supports their future in construction or small business ventures but also enriches the surrounding communities where they live and work.

Furthermore, our approach to design emphasizes minimal impact on nature. We meticulously integrate natural features such as existing trees into the construction of our villas and suites, demonstrating our dedication to preserving the environment while offering unparalleled luxury accommodations.
